The Acolytebecame one of Star Wars' most controversial projects to date, which presumably played a role in why we are unlikely to ever see The Acolyte season 2, but the show nevertheless changed Star Wars forever. The Acolyte was set 100 years before the prequel trilogy in the Star Wars timeline, which primed it to be a defining installment.
