The truth is out there, and over the course of 11 seasons, over 200 episodes and two movies, FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny), a believer in the paranormal, and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson), a skeptic assigned to keep tabs on him and debunk his work, risked everything to find it on The X-Files. The show's original run began on Fox in 1993—nine seasons had aired by the time it ended in 2002, and its 2016 reboot lasted two seasons, making it one of the longest-running sci-fi shows in TV history. Chris Carter created the series, and a reboot is reportedly in the works by Ryan Coogler.
