Will Athena die in 9-1-1 Season 9 finale?

As of now, it is not confirmed whether Athena will die in the 9-1-1 Season 9 finale.

The latest episode saw Athena helping Firehouse 118 in the case of a human trafficking ring with migrants kept in a hidden room in a damaged building. She then found out that Nikolay Caster, who is connected with the Russian mafia, is the prime suspect. Additionally, she suspected Detective Hooks’ involvement in the case.

However, Hooks claimed to be innocent and called Athena to a SWAT raid on Nikolay’s safe house. Things ended up taking a dangerous turn during the raid. Hooks fired at an unarmed Nikolay, claiming he saw a gun on him, but Athena had opposite thoughts.

Later, Athena got her hands on a phone that proved Hooks guilty of being a criminal. As such, Hooks took a drastic step by shooting her. This twist left fans shocked, with many worried about Athena’s fate.

In the promo of the season finale, Athena is seen alive, but all is not well. She is rushed to the hospital with Eddie and Hen trying their best to save her. She is still unconscious and is continuously bleeding. Moreover, she is on the verge of having a heart attack.

During her appearance on Good Morning America, Bassett discussed whether her character will survive in the finale. “It remains to be seen,” she said. The actress further added, “I wish I could say. But Athena is strong.”

Whether Angela lives or succumbs to her wounds will likely be revealed in the 9-1-1 Season 9 finale.
