Does Steve Howey’s Nick Wagner die in High Potential Season 2 finale?

The finale of High Potential Season 2 primarily follows the murder of Vera Hensley, a renowned personality. Morgan delves into the case, and soon, a series of major events transpires.

Parallel to the main case about Vera’s murder, Captain Nick Wagner investigates Roman’s disappearance. He soon discovers that Roman was a prime suspect in the murder of a corrupt FBI agent named Lyla Flynn.

Near the end of the episode, Wagner tells Morgan on a call that he was going to meet up with a guy his father told him about, who could potentially have a connection to Roman’s disappearance. Despite Morgan wanting to join, Wagner insists on sizing up the man first alone, without putting her in danger. He ultimately asks her to come half an hour later.

When Morgan does reach the place, she finds Wagner sitting on a bench with wounds on his back. Wagner was stabbed by the person he met, perhaps a potential setup by his father. Morgan calls 911 immediately, but Wagner’s fate is unknown as the series comes to a conclusion for the season.

High Potential season 2 kept things open to interpretation, but with other reports claiming that actor Steve Howey’s contract with the show is over, his character could really be killed off. Even if Wagner does not die, his role as a series regular has come to an end. Hence, he could appear in season 3 as a guest star. But there is also a high chance that he does not make it.
