Things are starting to heat up at the EuroBasket 2025, quite literally. A lot of drama unfolded as Germany became the first nation to secure their spot in the Round of 16 after an emphatic 107-88 win over Lithuania. While the talk of the town should’ve been the fact that this was the defending world champions’ third straight game where they scored 100 or more points, showcasing their dominance, it has been overshadowed by an ugly incident that took place during halftime.
During the break, as both teams headed into the tunnel of the Tampere Deck Arena in Finland, a verbal altercation broke out between players and staff from both camps. Although it was hard to tell what the exact words were being exchanged between the players and coaches. From what was visible through the clip, which is now gaining a lot of traction on social media, NBA star and Lithuanian big man Jonas Valanciunas appears to be having a word with a few of his opponents.
At the same time, you can also see Lithuania’s GM Linas Kleiza engaging in a conversation with Germany’s Daniel Theis, trying to calm down the veteran forward. However, this is not all. There were also a few more NBA players allegedly in the tunnel when this fight broke out. This includes players such as Dennis Schroder, Franz Wagner, and Magic forward Tristan Da Silva. While the situation was later brought under control with the game resuming as normal, everyone was eager to know what had happened.

Even though there’s yet to be any official confirmation from either party, according to a few sources, the verbal exchange between Lithuanian and German players wasn’t because of something that happened between them on the court. On the contrary, it was allegedly due to unacceptable gestures and sounds made by a few of the Lithuanian supporters toward Germany’s Dennis Schorder, which led to his teammates, such as veteran forward Daniel Theis, getting really angry and asking those supporters to be kicked out.
This is a developing story…
