Wednesday Actor Shades Jennifer Lopez in Hot Ones

Wednesday star Luis Guzmán gave a rather unenthusiastic response when the name of Jenifer Lopez was mentioned during a recent episode of Hot Ones Versus. The veteran actor appeared alongside Jenna Ortega and several other actors on the show to promote the sophomore season of Wednesday.

Luis Guzmán made an appearance on Hot Ones Versus alongside Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, and Georgie Farmer, and gave a hilariously blunt answer when asked to describe Lopez.

The actor, who turned 69 on August 28, reflected on his illustrious career and the people he has worked with over the years at one point during the interaction with his Wednesday co-stars. “I will now run down a list of your previous collaborators, and you must quickly give me one word that describes them,” Myers told Guzmán.

The first name mentioned was that of Adam Sandler. Guzmán and Sandler worked together on 2002’s “Punch-Drunk Love” and 2003’s “Anger Management.” The former described the latter as “amazing” on Hot Ones Versus.

The next was Catherine Zeta-Jones, who portrays Morticia Addams (née Frump) opposite Guzmán’s Gomez Addams on Wednesday. The Puerto Rican actor replied, “Bellísima.”

However, when it was Lopez’s turn, Guzmán simply said, “Okay,” much to the shock of his younger co-stars. Notably, Guzmán and Lopez acted together in Steven Soderbergh’s film Out of Sight (1998). Its star-studded cast also included George Clooney, Ving Rhames, Don Cheadle, and Steve Zahn.

It is unknown whether there was any incident involving Guzmán and Lopez in the past. The former didn’t provide any additional details on the subject on Hot Ones Versus. Meanwhile, Myers asked Guzmán about Ortega. He hailed the 22-year-old actor as a “prodigy,” before saying “love you” to her.

Wednesday premiered on Netflix on November 23, 2022. The first four episodes of Season 2 came out on August 6, 2025. The remaining four debuts on September 3, 2025.
