Vin Diesel’s The Last Witch Hunter 2 Gets Big Update, Returning Stars Set

The Last Witch Hunter 2 has received a big update.

The Last Witch Hunter is a 2015 fantasy action movie directed by Breck Eisner. It stars Vin Diesel as an immortal witch hunter named Kaulder, while the supporting cast includes Rose Leslie as Chloe, Elijah Wood as Dolan 37th, and Michael Caine as Dolan 26th.

Following Diesel’s recent tease that The Last Witch Hunter 2 was happening, Lionsgate has now confirmed they are actively developing a sequel to the 2015 movie.

Diesel will reprise his role in the new movie. Caine is also attached to return, though his deal has not yet been finalized. The movie is being developed with Diesel’s One Race Films and Lionsgate. A filming start date has not yet been set, though Lionsgate did say they expect a “fast path to production.”

“The Last Witch Hunter has grown since its theatrical release into a global fan favorite, with audiences continuing to discover and rewatch it across every platform over the past decade,” Lionsgate’s Adam Fogelson said in a statement. That enduring enthusiasm made clear there is an appetite for more stories set in this world. Vin and I have partnered many times over the years, and he is a true force in our industry. I’m thrilled to be reuniting with him as he returns to this iconic role, and excited by how advancements in filmmaking technology now allow us to economically deliver a sequel on an even more ambitious scale.”

Based on Diesel’s own Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, The Last Witch Hunter grossed approximately $146.9 million at the global box office. It is currently available to stream on Peacock and Plex at this time.
