No film genre has as many offerings as horror. It goes past the cinema, where films like Sinners and Weapons have been among the biggest success stories of the year. Horror is so popular that there is even a popular streamer, Shudder, dedicated solely to the genre. And if that's still not enough to satisfy your hunger, there are smaller releases that come out at festivals and find a home on digital. Such is the case with Traumatika, a gory demon possession film that debuted at last year's FrightFest and is in theaters tomorrow. On the surface, Traumatika has the potential to be a hidden little gem, but bad writing and way too many points of view for its short 80-minute runtime make it feel like an unfinished film.Pierre Tsigaridis not only co-wrote, directed, and produced, but he was also responsible for cinematography and editing. In this case, there were not enough cooks in the kitchen to tell him that Traumatika is a disappointing mess.
