Viewers of The Vampire Diaries came for the dramatic vampire love triangle but stayed for the compelling ensemble cast. However, not every character was treated equally. While Elena (Nina Dobrev) received the brunt of the dramatic storylines because of her tortured decision between vampire brothers Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley), characters who had the most potential were shoved aside.
