After weeks of uncertainty, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5 is preparing to move forward with filming. The disruption followed domestic violence allegations tied to a key cast member.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5 to resume filming

Following a brief hiatus, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5 is set to resume production. The filming was paused in late March after allegations of domestic violence involving cast member Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, surfaced.

Amid an ongoing investigation into incidents from February, TMZ released footage of an incident from 2023. It showed Paul throwing chairs at Mortensen with a child present nearby. Shortly after the video was published, Disney announced in a statement that the filming of the new season had been paused.

“In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of ‘The Bachelorette’ at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family,” the statement read.

Additionally, Paul was also set to star in a new season of The Bachelorette, which was also scrapped by ABC.

On March 19, Mortensen filed for a protective order against Paul. Last week, the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s office announced that they will not be pursuing the charges.

Most recently, PEOPLE confirmed that Season 5 will no longer feature Paul or Mortensen when filming resumes. Fellow cast members reportedly stopped associating with the couple amid the production halt, as an insider previously shared.

“The girls are very overwhelmed. They all banded together, and they don’t want to come back right now,” the insider stated, adding, “They were just getting tired of Taylor, honestly.”

As of now, Hulu has not announced an official release date for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ upcoming season.
