One of the biggest PVOD hits of 2026 is a Dracula adaptation that flopped at the box office, debuting mere months after Robert Eggers' blockbuster Nosferatu. Eggers' movie made nearly $200 million worldwide at the end of 2024, and the new Dracula adaptation was released theatrically in Europe in July 2025. It arrived in domestic theaters in February 2026, but found its audience only after it was made available on home video. The film was directed by the rather controversial Luc Besson and headlined by Caleb Landry Jones, with two-time Oscar winner Christoph Waltz in a supporting role as the Abraham Van Helsing character. The film grossed around $40 million worldwide against a reported budget of more than $50 million, continuing Besson's unfortunate box-office streak.
