Coming out of the Fourth of July weekend, Prime Video has a new number one movie ruling the charts: the hit 2026 sci-fi film Project Hail Mary. Based on the 2021 Andy Weir novel, the movie was produced and directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and written by Drew Goddard, and stars Ryan Gosling as science teacher-turned-astronaut Ryland Grace. A massive critical and commercial success, the movie’s already the fifth highest-grossing film of 2026 and a proven audience favorite.
