Lil Jon has announced a new memoir, entitled I Only Shout So You Can Hear Me, and this is the cover!

“I’ve worked on a lot of different projects over the years, but this one right here made me dig deep and turn inward,” Lil Jon said in a statement. “Y’all have heard my voice for over three decades, but here’s a chance to read what I really have to say about it all, and catch a glimpse into the innermost circles of both my professional and personal worlds.”

The book will cover Lil Jon’s rise to fame, including his collaborations with artists Usher, Ice Cube, Pitbull, Ciara, and more. The award-winning rapper and producer’s memoir is out from Black Privilege Publishing, an imprint of Atria Books and Simon & Schuster, on October 20.

The House in the Cerulean Sea is Being Turned Into an Animated Series

TJ Klune’s New York Times bestselling novel The House in the Cerulean Sea is being turned into an animated series from Warner Bros. Animation. Klune’s 2020 novel follows Linus, a caseworker for the Department in Charge of Magical Youth, who receives a top-secret assignment to Marsyas Island Orphanage to investigate the children living there and their mysterious caretaker. What he discovers there will change his life forever. The adaptation is still in early stages: no showrunner, writer, director, cast, or streaming platform has been announced yet.

Freida McFadden Reveals Her True Identity

The Housemaid author Freida McFadden recently went public with her real identity, and now she’s finally sharing a wig-free portrait. “Earlier this week it became clear to me that the mystery around my real name was taking on a lore of its own and I decided it was time to share it,” McFadden, whose real name is Sarah Cohen, explained. “Now that the truth is out there, I want my readers to know that I will still be publishing books as Freida McFadden. It has always been my intention to entertain people and that is what I will continue doing as long as you keep reading.” McFadden has no intention of quitting her day job as a doctor who treats brain disorders. But she also has two books coming out later this year: The Divorce will be out on May 26, and The Witch will be out in early October.

Melina Matsoukas is Directing the Upcoming Parable of the Sower Movie

Melina Matsoukas has signed on to direct the film adaptation of Octavia E. Butler’s science fiction/post-apocalyptic novel Parable of the Sower. Matsoukas has previously directed Queen & Slim, Insecure, and multiple Beyoncé music videos, including “Formation.” Matsoukas will also produce Parable of the Sower via her company De La Revolucion.

Meryl Wilsner’s Cleat Cute is Being Adapted into a Series

Amazon MGM Studios is adapting Meryl Wilsner’s sapphic sports romance novel Cleat Cute into a series. Sarah Tapscott will serve as the series’ showrunner, executive producer, and writer. The 2023 novel follows the lives of four players on the professional New Orleans women’s soccer team, Crescent City. Other executive producers attached to the project are Jeff Wachtel and Jared Berenholz for Future Shack Entertainment, Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe for A Touch More, Camille Bernier-Green, Emily Rasenick, and Wilsner.
