The Bear Season 5 just received a major update that gives fans a clearer picture of when the final chapter will arrive. The hit FX series confirmed a key milestone ahead of its highly anticipated last season, signaling that the end of Carmy Berzatto’s story is closer than ever.
The Bear Season 5 starts production
FX Networks confirmed that The Bear Season 5 has officially entered production. The network shared the update on its Instagram account in January 2026. The post featured the caption, “Clocking in. The Bear Season 5 is now in production.”
FX renewed the comedy-drama series for a fifth season on July 1, 2025. The upcoming season will serve as the show’s final chapter (via Deadline). Jamie Lee Curtis revealed the news in March 2026 through an Instagram post alongside co-star Abby Elliott.
Curtis wrote, “FINISHED STRONG! Surrounded by an extraordinary crew and group of writers and producers and scene partners on the show that Chris Storer created, completing the story of this extraordinary family that we have all fallen in love with. Got to finish it out with my baby Berzatto bear.”
Jeremy Allen White stars as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto alongside Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colon-Zayas, Abby Elliott, Matty Matheson and Edwin Lee Gibson. Christopher Storer created the series and executive produces.
The fourth season concluded with Carmy informing Syd and Richie about his departure from the restaurant. He also decided to sign over his ownership stake in the business. Season 4 debuted on Hulu on June 25, 2025.
The Bear has collected 21 Primetime Emmy Awards since launching in 2022. White earned the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The series also won Outstanding Comedy Series in 2023. Season 5 will debut on Hulu and internationally on Disney+ later in 2026.
