Taylor Sheridan’s Worst-Rated Series Is Still Winning With Viewers

Landman proved that Taylor Sheridan was effectively critic-proof. The show defied significant backlash to become a major hit for Paramount+, a streak that continued when it returned with a second season. More recently, a series that Sheridan executive-produced and had little creative input in has defied poor reviews from both critics and audiences to emerge as a bona fide cross-platform hit. With this series, Paramount took a strategic risk by expanding Sheridan's blockbuster Yellowstone franchise to linear television. It was understood that the majority of the franchise's viewers watched it on Paramount+. But the risk paid off handsomely, with the new series consistently establishing itself as one of the most-watched titles on TV, and drawing significant viewership on Paramount+ as well.
