The iconic Susan BoyleFollowing an extended break from the spotlight, Susan Boyle is definitely leaning into her fun side with her comeback.
Last week, the I Dreamed A Dream singer began teasing a “new era” alongside glamorous pictures of her around an iconic London recording studio – which turned out to be the precursor to a new ad campaign, for which she recorded a new dance floor-friendly take on the iconic Cornetto jingle.
And if all that’s got your head spinning, you’re going to want to take a second before you check out Susan’s second announcement in as many days.
On Tuesday, it was revealed that the former Britain’s Got Talent star had joined a host of recognisable Scottish faces for a new Irn Bru campaign to coincide with the upcoming World Cup, in a nod to the drinks brand’s original 80s adverts.
Susan’s part in the ad sees her belting out the new “summer anthem” for the Tartan Army, while atop the Forth Rail Bridge, dressed in glitter and feathers (naturally), before launching into a spot of breakdancing (which we’re choosing to believe was all her without the aid of a stunt double and we won’t be hearing otherwise).
The Grammy nominee enthused: “I never thought I’d be belting out an anthem on top of a bridge or breakdancing but it just goes to show that anything’s possible when you’re Made in Scotland from Girders.”
She added: “It’s been brilliant fun, a bit bonkers, but in the best way. The anthem is for the fans and everyone loudly showing their support – carrying the roar of a nation with them, from the first kick to the final whistle.”
In the last few years, Susan has taken a step back from the limelight after recovering from what she has described as a “major stroke” in 2022.
However, last year she shared that she had been back in the recording studio, hinting at a potential tour as well as a possible film role in her future.
