The summer of movies has produced mixed results, with some, like Dean Fleischer Camp's Lilo and Stitchand Jurassic World Rebirth, finding huge success, and others, like The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Pixar's Elio, shockingly underwhelming. Thankfully for DC fans, James Gunn's Superman is on the side of the former, having flown just high enough to avoid the 'failure' label. However, despite its success, Superman looks destined to fall short of one of Gunn's most critically acclaimed projects, which was also his latest movie before Superman.
