Sugar Season 2 Trailer Previews Colin Farrell TV Show’s Return

Apple TV has shared the official trailer for Sugar Season 2. The next chapter of Colin Farrell‘s neo-noir detective drama show is scheduled to premiere on June 19 on Apple TV. It will then release with one new episode weekly, every Friday through August 7.

“The show is a contemporary, unique take on one of the most popular and significant genres in literary, motion picture, and television history: the private detective story,” reads the official synopsis. “Season 2 ushers in the return of Los Angeles’s iconic private detective and film connoisseur John Sugar, who stayed on earth in hopes of finding his sister as he takes on a new missing persons case — searching for the older brother of an up-and-coming local boxer. As the investigation expands into a sinister, city-wide conspiracy, Sugar must reckon with himself to answer the question — how far will he go to do what’s right?”

What happens in the Sugar Season 2 trailer?

The video highlights Farrell’s return as the titular private detective whose next missing persons case will lead him to a city-wide conspiracy involving the LAPD. The trailer teases the challenges he’ll face in search of the truth and the dangerous people he’ll encounter during his investigation. Joining Farrell in Season 2 are Jin Ha, Raymond Lee, Tony Dalton, Laura Donnelly, Sasha Calle, and special guest star Shea Whigham.

Sugar is created by Mark Protosevich, with Season 2 showrunner Sam Catlin serving as an executive producer for Short Drive Entertainment. Farrell, Scott Greenberg, and Chip Vucelich are also set as executive producers, along with Audrey Chon and Simon Kinberg for Genre Films. When the show debuted in 2024, Season 1 garnered a Certified Fresh rating of 81% on Rotten Tomatoes.
