Aside from Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Yotei is Sony Interactive Entertainment’s biggest PS5 exclusive of the year. As such, it wouldn’t be unexpected for the samurai action to forge some partnerships with products outside of gaming. Well, the game has done just that, and it’s a bit strange, yet fitting.

Ghost of Yotei is partnering with Japanese brewery Sapporo to bring a limited-time packaging for the popular Japanese lager. Additionally, it will include a special in-game reward that will surely help players on their revenge quest as Atsu.

How do you get Ghost of Yotei’s Sapporo DLC?

The Ghost of Yotei Sapporo DLC is in the form of the Charm of Hookyokusei. Featuring the brewery’s logo on the charm, this item gives players a minor chance to not consume ranged weapon ammo when equipped. Redeeming the DLC is pretty simple. Players just have to scan the QR code on the beer’s packaging and follow the prompts.

We made one joke about a “Yōtei Six Pack” and a year later we have the perfect partnership. So happy this all came together https://t.co/0H0sgMY2zF pic.twitter.com/iKGOFW2vv7

Players who do end up grabbing some Sapporo to get the Ghost of Yotei DLC will have a bit of time to redeem the charm. The offer will end on March 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. PT, so there is plenty of time to grab a six-pack and get the Charm of Hokkyokusei.

The Ghost of Yotei and Sapporo partnership might be more fitting than some think. Known as Japan’s oldest brewery, Sapporo originated on the island of Hokkaido, the setting of Ghost of Yotei.

“Sapporo is proud to partner with Sucker Punch Productions on limited edition Ghost of Yotei packaging and special in-game reward… Hokkyokusei is the Japanese term for the North Star, which guided the brewery’s original brewmaster Seibei Nakagawa on his quest to Germany where he learned to brew beer, a craft he would apply back home in 1876 as Sapporo’s first German-trained brewmaster,” reads a statement from the brewery.

Ghost of Yotei launches for PS5 on October 2.
