Despite most expecting the film to fly into theaters and rocket its way towards the billion-dollar mark, the reality of The Mandalorian and Grogu's start to theatrical life has been much more underwhelming. Despite there seeming to be plenty of excitement for the big-screen transition of Pedro Pascal's titular bounty hunter, the film has struggled to hit the high bar set for it by franchise predecessors, not helped by the sudden, viral domination of horror movies Backrooms and Obsession.
