The Minnesota Star Tribune has announced the closure of its Minneapolis printing plant as its shifts its newspaper printing to Iowa, with 125 workers set to be laid off as a result. The newspaper's Heritage Printing Facility on North 1st Street in the Warehouse District has been operating for almost 40 years, opening in the years after the 1982 merger of the Minneapolis Tribune and the Minneapolis Star.
