‘SNL’ Just Confirmed the End of an Era With Its Goodbye to the Funniest Trio

Following the anniversary of five decades on the air, Saturday Night Livehas a few surprises in store for Season 51. One of the biggest shockers was the demise of the comedy trio, Please Don’t Destroy. Starting with humble beginnings on TikTok, the group consisted of Ben Marshall, John Higgins, and Martin Herlihy. Two actually come from sturdy SNL stock as Higgins and Herlihy’s fathers both worked on the series in different capacities. It truly is the end of an era as all three members of Please Don’t Destroy have chosen different paths. Higgins is reportedly pursuing other acting opportunities, while Herlihy has chosen to stay on as a writer. As the son of former head writer Tim Herlihy, this isn’t entirely surprising. Marshall, however, has been promoted to a main cast member for the new season.
