When it comes to iconic sci-fi franchises, few have had as much staying power over the years as RoboCop. If you were to poll a group of people at random and ask if they’d heard of RoboCop, it’d be surprising if at least 90% of them didn’t say yes. The franchise first launched back in the late 1980s with the release of the very first RoboCop movie starring Peter Weller, which is still hailed as a modern classic, even to this day. After several RoboCop movies and TV shows, the franchise was put on ice for a while before it returned in 2014 with a polarizing feature starring Joel Kinnaman and Gary Oldman. Prime Video is currently working on a RoboCop series, but the project is still in the early stages of development, so no casting has been announced.
