Rare PSP Game Gets PS5, PS4 Release Very Soon

Falcom and Refint/Games announced they are bringing a rare PSP game to PS5 and PS4 in the very near future. Originally only released in Japan, Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga is getting a worldwide release.

As seen in the newly released trailer, Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga sees the two fan-favorite RPG franchises crossover in a fighting/RPG hybrid. Check out the trailer below to get a glimpse at the upcoming PS4 and PS5 game’s unique gameplay.

PSP’s Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga finally coming to the U.S with PS4, PS5 release

Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga will release on PS5 and PS4 on October 10. According to its PS Store page, the game will be playable at 4 p.m. ET that day. It can’t be preordered as of this writing, but interested players can add it to their wishlist.

Here is a brief description of Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga from the PS Store:

“Finally, the walls between Falcom’s legendary RPG series, Ys and Trails, are broken for the ultimate dream match up! Fan-favorite heroes and rivals clash in battles once thought impossible, with support from beloved characters across Falcom’s classic titles to aid you in the fight!”

Both the Ys and Trails series have become increasingly popular in the U.S. The Trails series, in particular, has recently brought several of its entries to the West after its original launch, like The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero and The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure. The newest release will be Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter for PS5, which is slated for a 2025 release and is a remake of the first entry. There is a free demo available on the PS Store right now.
