PS5 update

Sony has quietly rolled out a firmware update for PS5 accessories, the patch notes for which are not available for some reason. Players are being prompted to update their Pulse Explore wireless earbuds as well as the PlayStation Link USB adapter.

Firmware update brings PS5 Pulse Explore and PS Link to v1.43

It’s unclear what the update specifically does. In the absence of official patch notes, we typically get player-curated patch notes. However, so far, we haven’t spotted anything about potential improvements and/or bug fixes. All we have are the firmware versions.

I suspect that the update has something to do with Sony recently introducing a PC driver that allows players to manage their audio accessories via a PC. Downloading the software gives players greater control over their Pulse Elite headset and Explore earbuds audio experience.

Players can now use a PC instead of a PS5 to adjust things like volume, controlling sidetone volumes, EQ presets, and more.

The PS Link USB adapter can also be updated with the new driver.

There’s no new update for the Pulse Elite headset at the time of this writing. We’ll keep an eye out for more information and update our readers if we spot something.
