Prime Video's Reacher will soon take the massive risk of giving up on one of its biggest strengths. This risk, in turn, changes the overarching franchise in a significant way and even potentially makes it better. However, if it backfires, it could also harm the franchise and lead to long-term storytelling issues. Either way, it is interesting to see where the Reacher franchise is heading.
