Despite running for two seasons, the nearly decade-old series Homecoming is ultimately defined by its first, and JuliaRoberts is the biggest reason it works so well. In the criminally underseen Sam Esmail-created Prime Video thriller, Roberts plays Heidi Bergman across two timelines: a caseworker at a mysterious facility in 2018, and a waitress in 2022 with no memory of the job that changed her life. People forget things all the time, but Heidi can’t remember a major part of her own story, and that absence becomes the driving mystery of Homecoming’s best part, on top of a stellar performance.
