The PlayStation Store always features great deals for some of the best PS4 and PS5 games the digital storefront has to offer. That includes this metroidvania from developer The Game Kitchen and publisher Team17.
Blasphemous is 75% off on the PS Store
Blasphemous is currently 75% off on the PS Store. That brings its price down to $6.24 from its usual $24.99 price tag. Players who want to take advantage of this deal will need to be quick. The offer ends on September 11 at 2:59 a.m. ET.
“A foul curse has fallen upon the land of Cvstodia and all its inhabitants – it is simply known as The Miracle,” reads the game’s PS Store description. “Play as The Penitent One – a sole survivor of the massacre of the ‘Silent Sorrow’. Trapped in an endless cycle of death and rebirth, it’s down to you to free the world from this terrible fate and reach the origin of your anguish.”
When Blasphemous was originally released for the PS4 in 2019, it was met with decent reviews. According to the review aggregate site Metacritic, it garnered an average score of 77 across 27 critic reviews. Players seem a bit higher on the challenging action-platformer. On Steam, player reviews were “very positive among the 16,573 players that rated the game on the digital storefront.
Blasphemous did win a couple of awards during the 2019 award show season. It was nominated for Best Art and won Best Spanish Development and Indie Game of the Year at the 2019 Titanium Awards.
Although it didn’t quite hit the critical success of other indie metroidvanias, it was very popular. The Game Kitchen announced back in 2021 that it had reached 1 million players across its platforms. In 2023, the beloved game received a sequel, Blasphemous 2, which garnered an average review score of 84 on Metacritic.
