Poland scrambles aircraft in response to Russian strikes on western Ukraine

Polish and allied aircraft were deployed early on Saturday to ensure the safety of the country's airspace after Russia launched strikes on western Ukraine near the border with Poland, the Polish military said. In a post on X, the military said its air defence systems "been brought to the highest state of readiness”.
