Releasing back in 2000 for the Game Boy Color, Pokémon Crystalwas released to serve as an enhanced version of Pokémon Gold and Silver. Despite being the final instalments in Pokémon's second generation, Pokémon Crystal introduced a variety of brand-new features which received praise from fans, including a playable female protagonist, a Battle Tower area, and general quality-of-life improvements that the franchise had been dying out for.
