PinkPantheress brought out Ice Spice & Kelela at night 2 of Brooklyn Paramount run (pics, video, setlist)

PinkPantheress is in the midst of her “Capable of Love tour,” which stopped in NYC for shows on Sunday and Monday night (4/14-4/15) at the newly renovated Brooklyn Paramount. We went to Monday night’s show; PinkPantheress took to a stage adorned simply, with three large mirrors, joining her backing band for a set that was broken into three sections, with brief interludes in between where she would leave the stage.

Rather than elaborate choreography and costuming, PinkPantheress is engaging just from the honesty and earnestness of her performance and interactions with the crowd. She had them in the palm of her hand as she paced the stage singing, stopping to point, preen, and pout, and they were eager to celebrate her, with some bringing gifts they tried to hand her (one person gave her a Spiderman bag).

Cash Cobain made a surprise appearance on night one at Brooklyn Paramount, and for night two PinkPantheress brought out Kelela for “Bury Me,” and at the end of the main set, Ice Spice, fresh off the plane from weekend one of Coachella, for “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2,” earning the biggest reaction of the night.

For the encore, PinkPantheress sang “Nice to meet you,” and her exit from the stage was followed by a blast of confetti filling the venue, a great end to a fun show.

Bktherula warmed up the crowd at the sold-out show, coming onstage with a massive group of friends and beach balls flying around to play her Soundcloud hits and songs off her most recent mixtapes. See pictures from the whole show by P Squared, attendee-taken video, and the setlist below.
