Peacemaker BTS Photo Has Fans Convinced [Spoiler] Will Appear in Season 2

A new behind-the-scenes photo taken from the set of Peacemaker Season 2 has fans convinced that David Corenswet’s Superman will appear in the DCU show.

The first three episodes of Peacemaker‘s second season are now available to watch on HBO Max. Created by James Gunn, the DCU show sees John Cena reprise his role as Christopher Smith, while the cast also includes Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, and Steve Agee as John Economos.

Will Superman appear in Peacemaker Season 2?

On Instagram, Corenswet shared a picture of himself, donning the Superman outfit, standing next to Cena while on the set of Peacemaker Season 2.

There’s been no official confirmation that Superman will appear in Peacemaker’s new chapter; however, many DC fans think he’ll show up at some point, especially because Gunn has teased that there “might even be one really, really, really big cameo near the end of the show,” via Entertainment Weekly.

Additionally, Gunn recently referred to Peacemaker Season 2 as “the Man of Tomorrow prequel” following the announcement that his Superman follow-up was arriving in 2027, which further suggests the Last Son of Krypton might cross paths with Peacemaker.

Also important to remember is that Cena did have a brief cameo in the 2025 Superman movie. Production on both DCU projects happened around the same time, as Cena said he was doing costume fittings for Peacemaker Season 2 when Gunn asked him if he wanted to have a Superman cameo.

New episodes of Peacemaker Season 2 will continue to be released on Thursdays until the finale arrives on October 9, 2025. The cast of the show further includes Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith/Blue Dragon, Sol Rodríguez as Sasha Bordeaux, Tim Meadows as Langston Fleury, and Michael Rooker as Red St. Wild.
