Paper Tiger Release Date Set for Adam Driver & Scarlett Johansson Reunion Movie

Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson‘s Paper Tiger has already received an official release date. The Neon production company’s movie will see the return of the Marriage Story leads in a new setting.

When is the release date for Paper Tiger?

According to Deadline, Paper Tiger will release on November 13, 2026. However, this will be time-limited and will be followed by a nationwide release on November 20.

The crime-thriller drama blends the American Dream with Russian Mafia themes, inspired by the Director’s personal life. The synopsis reads, “Two brothers pursue the American Dream but get entangled in a dangerous Russian mafia scheme that terrorizes their family, testing their bond as betrayal becomes possible.”

The movie’s cast includes Adam Driver as Gary Pearl, Scarlett Johansson as Linda Pearl, Miles Teller as Irwin Pearl, Gavin Goudey as Scott Pearl, Roman Engel as Benjamin Pearl, Cindy Katz as Iris Belfer, and Yves Garvy as Alexei Yunov.

The movie also reunites Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver, who were paired as a painfully realistic and troubled couple in Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story, which gained a 95% Rotten Tomatoes score.

The movie is written and directed by James Gray and is based on his family’s encounter with the Russian Mafia back in 1980s New York. The story follows a hardworking Patriarch, Irwin Pearl, who is swept up in a business scheme by his brother, Gary Pearl. This leads to a conflict with the Russian mob, unfolding the story. Besides this, Irwin’s wife, Linda, faces her own troubles that she must deal with.

The Producers include Rodrigo Teixeira, Anthony Katagas, Raffaella Leone, Gary Farkas, Marco Pereg, Carlo Salem, Andrea Bucko, James Gray, Andrea Leone, and Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio.

James Gray’s Paper Tiger first premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on 16 May, 2026. Here, it received a ten-minute standing ovation. As of now, it has received an 84% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
