Oscars 2027 and 2028 premiere dates and times announced
The Academy Awards has confirmed the schedule for its next two ceremonies. The 99th edition is set for Sunday, March 14, 2027, and the 100th edition is scheduled for Sunday, March 5, 2028. Both ceremonies will begin at 7 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ABC, continuing the awards’ global telecast across more than 200 territories.
The two events will also mark the final years of the Oscars’ run at the Dolby Theatre. The ceremony has been held there since 2002. Beginning in 2029, the awards will move to the Peacock Theater at the L.A. Live complex. The relocation follows a long-term agreement between the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and AEG, which will keep the ceremony at the new venue through 2039.
As part of the agreement, AEG will carry out upgrades to the Peacock Theater. This includes improvements to the stage, sound, and lighting systems, backstage facilities, and production areas. The 100th ceremony in 2028 will be the final Oscars event held at the Dolby Theatre before the transition takes effect the following year.
The upcoming ceremonies will also be the last to air on ABC under the current arrangement. Starting in 2029, the Oscars will shift to YouTube for distribution. This marks a change in how the event will be broadcast and streamed, beginning with the 101st edition.
Hosts for the 2027 and 2028 ceremonies have not yet been announced. The Academy has also released key dates for the 2026 to 2027 awards season as part of the broader schedule confirmation.
