About a week ago, one of the BBC's longest-running detective dramas returned to the U.S. with an all-new season, finally giving fans a much-needed continuation. Created by Robert Thorogood, who also co-created the whodunit's spin-offs, it first aired on October 25, 2011, to a positive reception from both critics and audiences. As a result, the crime drama has enjoyed multiple renewals and is expected to run through 2027, with Season 15 its latest installment, making it one of the longest-running detective sagas in the history of British television. If that wasn't a big enough achievement, the series in question is also seeing something of a resurgence thanks to U.S. streaming.
