2025 wasn’t exactly a textbook year for Derek Haas, who ventured into the streaming world for the Prime Video original series Countdown. The show struggled out the gate with poor reviews and less-than-desirable viewership, but it picked up steam over the course of the first season on its way to closing out Season 1 as one of the most popular shows on Prime Video. With star Jensen Ackles in the leading role, who also has experience with other Prime Video shows like The Boys, many fans felt like Countdown was a shoo-in to not only be renewed, but to be around for years to come. All these lofty aspirations were shut down, however, when Prime Video announced that Countdown had been canceled after only one season — the streamer canceled Butterfly on the same day.
