Oliver Tree’s body has been returned to the United States after the 32-year-old’s sudden death in a helicopter crash.

The American swinger-songwriter was one of six people who were killed after two helicopters crashed in Brazil.

In a message posted on his Instagram account on Sunday, a spokesperson confirmed the alternative rock artist’s body was ‘back in California where he can finally rest’.

The statement also confirmed that his family will honour Tree’s ‘final wish’ by setting up a foundation in his name.

‘His legacy will live on through his foundation/endowment named “Dr. Oliver Tree’s Extremely Epic Grant For Baby Geniuses” coming soon,’the post read.

‘This is something that Oliver had put together before his passing, written in his will. We will make sure his wish comes to fruition so that more joy, love and art can be spread into the world, that was his final wish.’

In the rest of the post, the spokesperson thanked fans for their ongoing support for the social media personality.

‘Thank you to everyone who has reached out, shown love, support and has done incredible tributes for Oliver,’ they added.

‘The constant love, support and positivity is helping the family, friends and collaborators make it through these extremely difficult times.

‘Love you all so much, Oliver would be so proud of every one of his supporters, friends and family. Peace be with Oliver.’

In April, Oliver previously spoke about his desire to give his ‘wealth or the things that get made from it’ away one day.

‘When I die – I’ve set it up – my will is set up that when I pass, my family, no one’s going to get a penny,” he said on The Zach Sang Show.

‘If I have a wife or kids or anything, [they’re] not getting a f*****g penny. I’ll get my kids through college – that’s the agreement.

‘But there’s not going to be a silver spoon… The idea is, when I die, all the money is going to go back to artists.’

Friends, including Diplo and KSI, all paid tribute to the ‘legend’ and one-of-a-kind creator after his death.

Tree, who was known for his hit songs Life Goes On, Miss You and ULTRAMAN, died near Rio de Janeiro on Sunday, June 14, when two helicopters collided, with an investigation now underway.

Local outlet Metróples reported that Tree and passengers Lucas Vignale, Gaspar Prim, Lucas Brito Chaves were in one helicopter with pilot Alexandre Souza, while the other was piloted only by Charles Marsillac.

Prim, who was also listed as a passenger according to AP, is better known as YouTuber Gaspi and was just 23.
