It’s been far too long since we’ve had a nice little fucked tale from Park Chan-wook. His last few films, Decision to Leave and The Handmaiden, certainly had delightfully strange moments, but they didn’t have the acidic, often brutal mentality that originally made him such a shockingly bleak filmmaker. Now, No Other Choice, arguably Park’s most outright humorous affair, sees the director leaning into his morbid sense of humor once more and creating one of his finest works yet.
