
Today was a momentous day for Nintendo fans as tons of Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 announcements were revealed at the September 2025 Nintendo Direct. Although all of these reveals were catered to Nintendo players, some of the third-party offerings act as announcements for PS5 as well.
Many of these PS5 announcements were already previously revealed, but they give a new look at upcoming games. Few are actual new announcements of games that were not announced before the Nintendo Direct. Regardless, there was something for any gamer to get excited about.
What were the PS5 announcements during the September 2025 Nintendo Direct?
Below are all the PS5 announcements and trailers that were featured during the September 2025 Nintendo Direct, as well as brief descriptions for each game.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined
Synopsis: “As a bright-eyed young fisherman’s son, you’ve lived your entire life on the peaceful island of Estard. Your journey begins with a simple question: is there more to the world than this small island kingdom?”
Resident Evil Requiem
Synopsis: “Everything is set in motion when a body—the victim of an unidentifiable disease—is discovered in an abandoned hotel. FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft is assigned to the case. But the crime scene is at the very same hotel where her mother died eight years ago. Grace prepares to finally face the past and makes her way to the scene, but this one case leads to uncovering the hidden truth behind the outbreak in Raccoon City, the biological disaster that shook the world.”
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection

Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection

Dynasty Warriors: Origins paid DLC
Synopsis: “A new version of the Three Kingdoms from the perspective of an original protagonist. The story of the Three Kingdoms is set in the vast mainland of China where the convictions of different heroes intersect. Experience this magnificent and alluring world through the eyes of the original protagonist, a ‘nameless hero.'”
Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake
Synopsis: “The full remake of the second installment in the Fatal Frame series, originally released in 2003, titled Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly. This Japanese-style horror adventure game follows twin sisters who become lost in an abandoned village haunted by vengeful spirits. Using the Camera Obscura—a device that can capture and seal away the impossible—they fight ghosts as the story unfolds.”
Powerwash Simulator 2
Synopsis: “Dust off your power washer and relax into pure feel-good fun. Blast away every last speck, smear and splatter of filth to restore Muckingham (and beyond) to gleaming glory.”
Danganronpa 2×2
Synopsis: “The original scenario of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair has been updated with new visuals and production value for modern game systems. Players will experience the shocking story, revamped to deliver a more beautiful and satisfying gameplay experience.”
POPUCOM
Synopsis: “A fantasy adventure in a mysterious world is a lot more fun with friends. Work as a team! Or suffer defeat? Many challenges await. You must work together to progress!”
