New Shaun the Sheep Movie Trailer Teases a Bigger, Wilder Aardman Adventure

GKIDS has released a new exciting trailer for Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom. The latest sequel of Aardman Animations‘ popular animated franchise will arrive in U.S. theaters on September 18, 2026.

“The film sees the residents of Mossy Bottom Farm looking forward to Halloween – until the clumsy Farmer trashes the Flock’s beloved pumpkin patch! When Shaun turns mad scientist to fix the problem, things rapidly spiral out of control… With The Farmer missing and a wild beast roaming the woods of Mossingham, all the ingredients are in place for a monstrously fun family adventure.”

What do we see in the new Shaun the Sheep movie trailer?

The video continues to tease the beloved character’s next big adventure, which sees Shaun becoming a mad scientist. The latest installment will feature the return of Justin Fletcher, John Sparkes, and Kate Harbour, who have been voicing the respective roles of Shaun, Timmy, the Farmer, Bitzer, Timmy’s mother, and Merly since the first movie in 2015.

Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom is directed by Steve Cox and Matthew Walker, with Mark Burton and Giles Pilbrow writing the screenplay. This marks Cox and Walker’s feature directorial debut. The stop-motion animated movie is executive-produced by Sarah Cox, Peter Lord, Andrew Orr, Nick Park, Carla Shelley, and Julia Stuart, with Richard Beek serving as its producer.

The film franchise is based on the popular British animated series created by Nick Park and Aardman Animations. The first movie debuted in 2015 and received a near-perfect approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Meanwhile, its 2019 sequel, A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, has also garnered positive reviews from critics. It currently holds a Certified Fresh score of 96%, based on 82 reviews.
