
Sony has confirmed that the highly anticipated PS5 system software update, which is currently in beta, will roll out tomorrow. Starting Wednesday, September 17, players will be able to pair their DualSense controllers across multiple devices without hassle.
PS5 system software update details (September 17, 2025)
As previously announced, players will now be able to pair their DualSense or DualSense Edge controllers with up to four devices simultaneously. Follow these steps after your console is updated, and make sure your controller isn’t connected via a USB cable:
Make sure the light bar and player indicator on your controller is off. If they’re turned on, press and hold the PS button until they turn off. Press and hold one of the action buttons (triangle, circle, cross, or square) and the PS button for over 5 seconds. The light bar and player indicator flash two times. Turn on Bluetooth on your device, and select the option to add Bluetooth devices. Your device detects nearby Bluetooth devices. Select your controller from the detected devices. The light bar lights up, and the player indicator’s lights blink according to the slot number.Switching between paired devices will require pressing the PS button on the controller and then pressing the corresponding action button for each paired device. You can assign the action buttons to your devices by following these steps:
Turn on the device you want to connect to. Press and hold one of the action buttons and the PS button for about 3 seconds. When the light bar and player indicator blink, release both buttons. The light bar lights up, and the player indicator’s lights blink according to the slot number.
