New ‘Fantastic Four’ Grosses Twice As Much As M. Night Shyamalan’s Cult Classic ‘Sixth Sense’ Follow-Up

It might have delivered underwhelming results at the box office despite largely positive reviews, but Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps did manage to pass the coveted $500 million mark globally. The theatrical landscape is simply not what it used to be five years ago, when the Marvel Cinematic Universe was at its peak. They say that $500 million is the new $800 million, which is what a movie like The Fantastic Four would’ve been expected to do in the past. But Disney is undoubtedly in a fix, having delivered three MCU films in a row to have underperformed at the box office.
