Not many fans are surprised that 2026 has already been a huge year for Netflix, both in the movie and TV departments. One of the biggest developments for the streamer came earlier this year when news broke that they had backed out of acquiring WB Discovery, leaving Paramount as the sole inheritor of the company, assuming the deal goes through. The biggest movie for Netflix so far this year has been War Machine, the sci-fi epic starring Reacher veteran Alan Ritchson. Netflix has also aired other hit films like The Rip (starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck) and The Immortal Man (starring Cillian Murphy and Rebecca Ferguson). Some of the biggest new TV releases for Netflix this year include Bridgerton and One Piece, which both have new seasons on the way, but they’re far from the only projects in development at Netflix right now.
