Moira makes an illegal move with Celia in Emmerdale as she fears it will come back to haunt her

Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) has the opportunity for a last-ditch attempt at saving Butlers in Emmerdale, but at what cost?

Newcomer Celia, already loved by plenty of fans, arrived earlier this year. Her first main storyline involved her clashing with Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) after he was attacked by a dog that was on Celia’s land.

She is now playing a part in the storyline involving the Tates and Moira.

It has certainly been amusing watching Moira wipe the smug grin off Joe Tate’s (Ned Porteous) little face after she dangled the carrot that she’d sell the farm to him, only to take it back when she learned he had played her for a fool.

Joe does not like to lose, but this one he’s had to swallow.

He’d recruited Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) to do his dirty work, but all it took was for Moira to call her a friend for her to fold like Bob’s cheap bedlinen and confess her associations with the Tates.

Since then, she and Moira have become firm friends in trying to save their businesses. They don’t have many choices, so when an opportunity presents itself, they have little choice but to take it.

Recently in the show, Celia had a very honest conversation about her family – or lack thereof.

She confirmed that she has a son, but she doesn’t see him much because he’s a grown man. She also revealed that she had a husband, but he died.

The moment of vulnerability caused Moira to remind Celia that she’s no longer on her own.

In future episodes, new best bud Celia arrives with a new job offer for her and the farm, but it’s not your average run-of-the mill contract – it’s on the wrong side of legal and could either solve all of Moira’s problems or make a thousand new ones.

She takes a punt and signs anyway, simply crossing everything that it works out.

Has she signed a deal with the devil?

There’s nothing to say that Celia’s sudden conscience isn’t all part of another game. Has Moira just dropped herself back in it?
