Modern Family’s Alex Actor on if She’ll Return for a Revival

Modern Family star Ariel Winter, who played girl genius Alex Dunphy on the show, seems to have joined the bandwagon to bring the sitcom back. In a recent interview, the actress shared her thoughts on a potential Modern Family reunion, while also revealing if she’d return as Alex if a revival happens.

Ariel Winter is ‘open to’ returning as Alex for a Modern Family revival

During a conversation with E! News, Ariel Winter confirmed that she is more than willing to step into the shoes of Alex once again if Modern Family comes back for one last hurrah.

“I’d definitely be open to it,” Winter said. However, she also highlighted that green-lighting the much-awaited reunion is not under her control. “That’s not up to me. That’s up to the powers that be. If they want to hit me up, they can hit me up.”

Talking about Alex Dunphy’s fate in case a Modern Family revival does happen, Winter remarked, “Alex had so many different interests. They were all extremely educational, smart, and amazing interests. But I would hope that she has expanded her life in so many ways that I know she could have.”

The Safelight star also noted, “I hope now that she’s found herself totally in the way that she would want to and put some effort into finding her heart and what she loves personally, because she’s already achieved so much professionally.”

Modern Family aired its first episode on ABC back in September 2009. With the sitcom garnering rave reviews from audiences and critics alike, Modern Family was able to enjoy a succesful run on television. The comedy series finally came to a conclusion in April 2020, ending with a two-parter finale.
