While many MobLand fans appreciate the spectacular performances from the show's main cast, the secret sauce is in the writing. The sharp, witty dialogue is enhanced by performances from Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren, among others. MobLand was created and written by Ronan Bennett in conjunction with Jez Butterworth. The latter is known for writing major screenplays like Spectre and Ford v. Ferrari. Butterworth has amassed writing credits, but MobLand marked new territory for him. It was one of his earliest television writing credits.
