Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris Jackson, is denying that she has any involvement in the new biopic movie.
Michael is an upcoming biographical musical drama movie about the life of Michael Jackson that is being directed by Antoine Fuqua. Releasing on April 24, 2026, from Lionsgate, the movie will see Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, play the titular King of Pop, while Colman Domingo portrays Michael’s father, Joe Jackson.
What did Paris Jackson say about the Michael Jackson biopic movie?
In a recent interview with People Magazine, Domingo said that Paris and Prince Jackson are “very much in support of our film.” He further said that he “chatted briefly” with Paris about the movie and that she’s been “nothing but lovely and warm” to him.
Paris is now, however, completely distancing herself from the biopic.
She wrote on her Instagram story, “[Colman Domingo], don’t be telling people I was ‘helpful’ on the set of a movie I had 0% involvement in lol that is so weird. I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest/didn’t sit right with me and when they didn’t address it I moved on with my life. Not my monkeys not my circus. God bless and god speed.”
She said in another series of video posts, “I wasn’t involved at all, aside from giving feedback on the first draft, and then getting the feedback that, ‘Yeah, we’re not actually going to address your notes at all.’ I was like, ‘aight, f— me.’ So I just like butted out and I left it alone because it’s not my project. They’re going to make whatever they’re going to make. A big reason why I haven’t said anything up until this point is because I know a lot of you guys are gonna be happy with it. A big section — the film panders to a very specific section of my dad’s fandom that still lives in the fantasy, and they’re gonna be happy with it.
“…The thing about these biopics is they’re Hollywood. It’s fantasy land. It’s not real. But it’s sold to you as real. A lot of sugar-coated — like, the narrative is being controlled. There’s a lot of inaccuracy, and there’s a lot of just full-blown lies. At the end of the day, that doesn’t really fly with me. I don’t really like dishonesty. I spoke up, I wasn’t heard, I f—ed off. That’s it. Y’all are going to like the f—ing movie, so just go watch it, go enjoy it, do whatever, and leave me out of it.”
