Everyone loves one of those mid-2000s adventure movies that feels like it was built in a lab to be watched on a lazy weekend, and this latest film is no exception. It’s big, silly, handsome, and constantly moving, with enough old-school treasure-hunt energy to stay fun even when it starts getting gloriously ridiculous. The movie never quite became the franchise-starter it clearly wanted to be, but that’s also part of what makes it interesting now. It’s a blockbuster swing from an era when studios were still willing to bet on this kind of thing.
