Original (March 10): Netflix has officially released the first Man on Fire trailer, previewing its upcoming high-profile TV show starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Man on Fire is set to premiere on April 30, 2026, only on Netflix.

“Based on A.J. Quinnell’s book series, Man on Fire tells the story of John Creasy. Once a high-functioning and skilled Special Forces Mercenary, known for surviving even the most desolate of situations, Creasy is now plagued with intense PTSD. Determined to overcome his personal demons, he sets out on a path to redemption. But, before he can adjust to this new life, he finds himself back in the fire, fighting harder than ever,” reads the official synopsis of the show.

What happens in the Man on Fire trailer?

The trailer for the show follows the story of John Creasy, a former Special Forces Mercenary that sets out on a path to redemption. The trailer also promises some big action sequences as well.

Alongside Abdul-Mateen II, the Man on Fire TV show also stars Billie Boullet, Bobby Cannavale, Alice Braga, Scoot McNairy, and Paul Ben-Victor. Kyle Killen will serve as writer and showrunner for the series, with Steven Caple Jr. directing the first two episodes of the series.

The series will be based on author A.J. Quinnell’s book series, which began in 1980 with the novel of the same name. Famously, that book was also adapted into a 2004 action thriller by director Tony Scott. Denzel Washington, Dakota Fanning, and Christopher Walken starred in that film, which was a smash hit.
