Malik Beasley’s offseason began under intense scrutiny. In June 2025, reports revealed he was being investigated by the U.S. District Attorney’s office for alleged involvement in gambling on NBA games and prop bets during the 2023–24 season with the Milwaukee Bucks. By August 22, Beasley’s attorneys confirmed he was no longer a target of the federal probe, clarifying that extensive discussions with the Eastern District of New York determined he was not considered a subject of the investigation.

In August, he was evicted from his downtown Detroit apartment after failing to pay $21,500 in rent. On top of that, his former marketing agency, Hazan Sports Management Group, filed a lawsuit alleging he had not repaid a $650,000 advance before their contract ended. These issues cast a shadow over his offseason, leaving fans wondering how they would affect his NBA future.

Amid these struggles, Beasley took to Instagram to address the public and set the record straight. He wrote, ”step into my world. where we dont listen to the outside noise 💯 where we don’t quit.. where we live to the fullest.. not given af about anything that’s not important to us.. 🖤 year 10 is approaching.. probably the most interesting one of them all.. and the goal remains the same .. be better than last year 😈 my decision is near 👀.” His post highlighted his focus and determination despite the setbacks. So what is he planning? Well fans will find out soon enough.
